6 Week Checkup

We took the puppies into the vet this past Friday to get their first round of shots and check ups. Everyone did great! We brought them all in, in a little red wagon. Of course It made them more irresistible than they already are and people kept trying to pet them every chance they got haha! I think next time we are going to leave them in the safety of the car until its their turn to go back. I might be more protective over these puppies than I was my own children when they were born… Anyway, the vet found them all to be in tip top shape. We can’t believe they’re almost ready to go home. I’m really excited for our puppies’ families but kind of sad to see them go at the same time. I know they will be loved for life though.

Line Up Puppies!

The puppies are just over five weeks now. They have all learned to run and are quite good at it, luckily they’re not too fast yet. We are currently working with each puppy on clicker training and teaching them how to respectfully ask for attention. some are catching on faster than others, but I’m confident all will get the hang of it before long. We took them out for some pictures yesterday evening. I wanted Rodney to try and line them up again like we did when they were three weeks old. Needless to say, it didn’t happen. Current Happenings

The puppies are five weeks today! They are growing so so fast, it’s unbelievable. They are plenty big enough to chase their mama around and beg relentlessly to nurse, something she has decided they need to stop doing! But Ruby is a good mama and has several high places she can jump onto if the puppies get too overwhelming for her. Week 5 in the Puppy Culture program is all about introducing new items and overcoming their fears of said new items all while having fun. The little ones are doing great with this.
